sump VS H.O.B filter for 20g nano

I have a overflow from my 46g bowfront tank that I recently tore down. Is this overflow gonna be to big or too much flow for a smaller 20g tank. Maybe with a smaller return pump? Or would a bio wheel system work just fine??

I've been told my marineland emperor 400 with weekly PWCs will Be fine in my 20 gal long

I think either will be fine. Just install a ball valve to control your overflow should you decide to use that.

I'm currently running a 29g with an aquaclear and doing pwcs and the parameters are fine.
