Tank Troubles!

Okay! So i got a new fish tank around Christmas, for my new babies currently in a net, and theres something wrong with the water. No matter how much me and my plecosomus, Unknown, try to clean it the water remains this.. yellowish/greenish color. I'm new to bigger tanks, this one being a 29 gallon, and is this good, bad, natural...?? Please help me!!

Is the tank near a window where it can be getting direct sunlight? Also to reiterate, what are your tank's parameters, particularly ammonia and nitrite.

it is by the window but i always forget to open it in the morning on the way to school....
