i've had salt water going for three years now and just started a 30 gallon fresh water.can i use my salt water kit for testing

I got out of saltwater 5 or so years ago and if memory serves me right the color code cards are different for freshwater than for saltwater even tho the tests are the same. (API brand)

Actually, all of the individual API tests are labeled and sold for both fw/sw- they are not seperate tests. Only the master kit has a distinction of being marketed as fw or sw but the tests are the same.
