So I found out this morning that my ram has ick. I just got not too long ago about two days and I bought the new tetra ick guard to treat him as well as my other fish. I have one Kuhli loach, 2 dwarf puffs, two bumblebee gobies, two black mollies, the ram, sunset platy, fancy tail guppy, tiger barb, Chinese algae eater and a dwarf frog. It says one for ten gallons but half for none scaled fish. Should I just put two in? And also it says I don't need to raise the temp or take out my carbon filter pad. I already did though because I need to change it. I have about two questions 1. How long should I wait until adding more tablet? It says treat every twenty four hours if persists. 2. I did a 20% water change this morning. Should I do another before I put it in or put it in then do the water change tomorrow? I'm just new to this hobby and this disease so I don't know how often to change the water. I was gonna do water change for about a week after adding the tablets. Please help.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with ich if your just starting. It is not a fun disease to take care of, but isn't terribly difficult.

I'm not sure because you don't specify, but I'm assuming you have a 20 or a 40 gallon? based on this->
"It says one for ten gallons but half for none scaled fish. Should I just put two in?"
If its a twenty gallon tank then no put half that. Unless I'm mistaken your Kuhli Loach is considered a "scaleless" fish
If its a 40 gallon then yes you have the right dosing.

Yes, if your using the medication (which you clearly are :p) then do not increase the tank temperature because both higher temperature and medication reduce available oxygen in the water and both together could mean suffocating your fish :(

Do another 20%-40% water change, be sure to get the siphon down deep into the substrate and stir it up, it helps because that's where one of the stages of ich (can't remember names) lives.

Add the medication after the water change. Frequent water changes will help to quicken the recovery time, however it could still be quite lengthy, ich is a persistant little.......word that i shall not use in public :p.

Take your time, don't panic, keep up the medication and water changes and you and your fish should get through this. I wish you the best of luck, hope that you lose none of your little friends and if you need more help just ask. Me or someone else here will be more than willing to help you.
