tiny worms on glass

So I've had my tank for almost a year and just recently I noticed those little worms on the glass in the tank...how do you get rid of these little buggers?

Planaria makes my cry, as well as most other flatworms. I had a bad worm problem that I thought was Planaria but I now I think it was detritus worms. They appeared after I bought live plants from my lfs but they went away when I blasted my tank with hot water and cleaned out the filters.

I was also wondering if its Ok to rinse the bio filter cause its caked with slimy gunk..I always heard to just leave it be..but maybe I'm wrong

Only rinse it in your old water change water
