Tip for painting object in the tank

Hi,
I'm planning to repaint an ornament in my tank and was wondering if any body can recommend to me a fish safe paint? Also I've seen some really nice DIY rock-like aquarium backgrounds any one got some tips on how to make them?

I heard that epoxy paint will dry/cure to be non-toxic.

Alot of websites say that epoxy paint is ok for the aquarium. I've been to the hardware, arts and craft stores and there are so many different types of epoxy paint but none of them mention food grade or even water resistant. has anyone used Krylon Fusion paint in their tank? I'm begining to think of just painting the object with acrylics and then coating it with polyester resin but i'm wondering if thats even safe...I'm stumped
