Hi I recently received an aqurium that was used in a saltwater set up. However it is too expensive for me to use it as a saltwater tank and I want to transfer it over to freshwater. The filter model is a Pro RS800G external filter and it has not been used in a very long time so I don't know if it works properly. I also have no idea if I can even still use the filter and if I was even able to I have no experience with this type of filter watsoever. So could someone please help me out here?

thanks

The only real differences between salt and fresh water is...well the salt. I'd just get a new filter.

I've used hobs that were used on SW for FW just clean it good first

Just don't reuse the actual filter pads.

Ok that makes sence but I think I might just get a new filter. Mostly because I have no experience with a external filter and I don't know how to set it up or if it still works properly.
