Hello,
I recently won a red eared slider at a carnival and am trying to start to raise it the correct way. I have him in a 10 gallon tank with a log for basking. I have a filter in his water and the water temp ranges from 78-82 degrees. I noticed that he is not eating at all. I went to PetSmart and bought him a little feeder fish to see if he would go after the fish. When I put the fish in the water the turtle did nothing. But about 5 minutes later I noticed that the fish was dead and floating in the water. Could this mean that there is some thing wrong with my water. I am looking for advice as to how to handle my non eating turtle. I do not want him to die. Any advice is welcome.
Thanks
