I have two GBR in my 29g. They are both males, and the one chase the other around a lot. Inalso noticed a little piece of fin missing from the one. I was just wondering if it would be ok to split them he'll and have them by themselves

Yes. It will be preferable to seperate them.

Now should I wait until I'm bringing home a female?

No. The aggression between the males may cause more damage to the subordinate fish. If you have another tank that one can be rehomed to, I'd do it as soon as possible. Can you trade one in for a female?

I just threw it into the 30g. I'm gonna purchase a female I think for my 29g
