Update....Finally, NO Nitrites!!!

But the 5'th of 6 Lemon Tets was floating at the surface...oh well.

OK, I am sure it's coincedence but I exchanged the Whisper30 for a Aquaclear HOB and I am very happy with it. Since the Tet was floating on the surface I checked the ammonia first and then the nitrites...nothing but pretty light blue in the test tube.

I will buy 5 gallons of Ozarka and do a PWC tomorrow night and let the tank run for a few days and check again...obviously I am happy about this. I was hoping it would be ready for a 2-3 GBR's that are due to arrive this Friday.
 
Did you seed your new filter from your old one? If you just switched filters suddenly...then you might have restarted the cycle from the beginning as the majority of your bacteria live in the filter and some in the gravel.
