I got another free tank from a neighbor, aparently I've been marked the fish dude to my locals. Anyway, it was a saltwater tank and right now its in pretty bad shape. How do go about making this thing safe for freshwater?

A good thourough rinse is a good idea. Get all the salt off. What won't come off with water can be taken off with a razor blade and some vinegar. Then rinse some more. Do not scrub with a coarse brush overtop of salt, it will scratch your glass.

Nice pick up, btw. Did this come with a stand and everything? What size?

No stand or anything just the tank, 38g i think. The dimensions are the closest to that size.

You can calculate it exactly. Aquarium glass can be up to a quarter of an inch thick so measure from the inside.

Volume (in³) = Length (in) x Width (in) x Height (in)
1 US Gallon = 231.000001 in³
