If I have a uv light system I'n my tank can I leave the light on all the time I'm jyst so worried to get that green stuff all over my glass and rocks and we all know what that is

No, it's unhealthy for the fish. They still need a sense of day and night, or they'll become stressed and likely fall ill. I've read many mixed reviews of UV sterilizers on indoor aquariums, with the majority saying it's not needed. I use one for my pond, but that's a lot of other factors to add in, being outside. Other than having one on your tank to help with free floating parasites, I wouldn't bother, as proper care and clean water should prevent that.

I am pretty sure you are only supposed to have it on for as long as needed. Running it all the time will just shorten the bulb's life span. I run mine overnight after I do a PWC just to be sure any harmful stuff is dead (I use well water for PWCs).
