Volcanic rock

If I put a volcanic rock in my African cichlid tank, would It kill my fish, lower the ph or higher the ph.

It may slightly raise the PH which is fine, just be careful because it's very sharp and can cause cuts on the fish.

I did get the volcanic rock in my tank, I think it looks good and so far the fish are enjoying it
