As some of you may know i have been fighting high (off the scale) nitrates. However I have been winning the fight and now have them down to 25 according to the salifert test. My other chemicals are...

ammonia = 0
nitrite = 0
nitrate = 25 :(
ph = 8.3
calcium = 440
alk = (kh=7.0) (Alk=2.52)
temp = 79deg F.
salinity = 1.024

My question, i will still be doing water changes weekly to get the nitrates down further, but can i now start to think about adding some mushrooms or green star polyps?

Those are both very hardy corals, I would try to get nitrates down to at least 20. You can always add some mushrooms and see what happens.

ok cool, then i shall try some mushrooms then. Which method do you folks use for acclimating the shrooms and polys? The drip method or other?
