Water change frequency?

Can I ask, why is one 50% better than two staggered 25% pwcs, just curious.

If you do two water changes, with the second change, you're removing part of the new water you put in with the first change. Of course, it's all been mixed in with the existing, so it's not "all" new water you're removing, but it doesn't make sense to me to do smaller ones. I just personally don't feel it's as effective.

I think doing small ones are a waste of time. Just do a big one and be done

I used to test my water all the time, but I have a planted tank and my nitrates stay at 0 now. I do a 40-50% wc every Sunday just to add ferts, and get some of the poo out.
