My water changer stinks! I've had it for awhile now and its starting to smell. Can I run something through it to clean it out? I was thinking some vinegar mixed with water. Not sure if it would affect water quality the next time I used it though... Advice please! :thanks:

Try just some hot water. If that dosent work, then try some vinegar, if that dosent work try some bleach, just be sure it rinse it thoroughly.

I see you're in Texas, is it hot out? The next time you use it, you might want to let it sit in the sun for a while to dry out.

I was thinking that may be part of the problem because I store it in a plastic container. Maybe if I rinse it out with hot water and set it out to dry in the sun it would help. I'm thinking about storing it in a 5gal. bucket in the garage instead of in that container in the house.
