My tank is infected with ick. I've raised the temperature to 84 is this warm enough or should I go higher? I've heard that 89F will kill all parasites.

I can't use meds because I have clown loaches. But I'm starting to notice fin and tail rot on some of my stock.

I'm beginning to worry :(

86 is ideal but when my tank had it I could only raise it to 84. It worked anyway. Frequent water changes are good to reduce the free swimming stage of the parasite. Good luck!

I've also heard that keeping the lights off helps cure ick. That the ick parasite likes light. Is this true?
