Hmmm...doesn't quite have the body of a rainbow (yet at least). At the moment it looks like a variety of Danio. Looks like a Giant Danio minus the side patterning.

Agreed. Hence why I said it looks like a Giant Danio minus the side patterning.

What kind of Rainbow is it then? Saying its a Rainbow is like calling a fish a "Tetra" or a "Cichlid."

Closest thing I could find was a Banded Rainbow. Although again, it hasn't grown into the typical Rainbow body shape.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe rainbows have been known to hybridize. Maybe you do not have a pure species, thus, the lack of ID.

Looks like an Australian to me too, but I'm not sure since I've only seen them stressed out at the LFS. Good luck with the ID
