What is "blanched" zuccini/cucumber?

See a lot of people mention blanched zucchini, cucumbers, and other vegetables, and was wondering what exactly it is? How do you blanch vegetables?

Blanched means partially cooked.

Boiled for partially cooked

Put slices in a microwave safe container with water, 2min on high. The water should boil and blanch the veggies.

Hi so that's how its done! I simply just put in my courgette in raw and the B/Ns soon whittle it away!

u dont really need to bother with cucumber, since it is like 70% water anyway. its only peas carrots etc the more solid veggies that need blanching x
