When can I put moss in my tank?

My tank is still cycling. I have a lovely piece of driftwood in my tank. When can I add some moss? What kind of moss? And how do I hold it down?
I have flourescent lights in my tank.

As far as I know you can put it in from the start, and use fishing line to fix it to your wood. I like flame moss but it's harder to find
