I went by Tractor Supply and they have two levels of grain of the blasting sand, fine and course. A bag of the fine grain had a slight tear in it, I felt the sand and it is very fine, I would think it could be sucked up in the intake of my Fluval 206. Would the course be to rough for cory cats?

if you are worried about sand being sucked into the filter then a pair of clean never washed panty hose and a zip tie will fix that.

for the corys id go with the fine though, will be easier for them to sift through

It won't get sucked up into your filter unless you toss a handful at the intake. The stuff is deceptively heavy.

Yup, the sand is heavy, it won't get sucked up up unless you are moving it around a lot. I would get the fine, the more fine the better for cories.
