I saw this white stuff on my heater a little bit ago and I've never seen it in my tank before. It's only on this heater, but not on the other heater or on anything else. I just did a water change last night so my parameters are all fine. Could it be calcium??

Made me look at my heaters to see if have any lol. I did a PWC on my salt water yesterday and some detritus has deposited on my heater. I suppose after heating this could begin to burn into something similar?

Does it rub off? I tend to get calcium more at tank water level so not sure here.

I do as well, that's what surprised me when I saw it there. I haven't tried to rub it off yet. I was afraid to spread it in the water without knowing what it could be lol.

If it is soft is more then likely just waste/debris that has settled in a low flow area IMO.
It would not be a fish disease or anything like that if that is what you are worried about.

Looks like it went away on its own. Must have just been waste
