Problem with ram Cichlids. Odd spot on fins max 2 spots per fish.
Have 5, was 6 but one died. Classic Spot Syndrome closed fins rapid Breath up by filter it only had 1 spot.
Have Neons & various other tets & corys (lost 1) after i treated the Tank Dwarf Gourami (Pair). None of these affected, think Cory was a weak fish.
50 gl Tank Water ppm 200 ph 7.2. Other tests ok. The Question is it Spot?

Welcome to AA. There are some great people in here that are glad to help each other with ideas and advice. Some will be pretty blunt so don't take offense. We try to give you options to try based on our experiences. This is a very individual hobby, so many ways to do the same thing. Take what makes sense to you and do alot of research. The internet is a God-send for information on anything. Again, welcome. Enjoy, don't be afraid to ask questions and make some friends.
On treating Ich(white spot). About the best and safest way to get rid of it is the heat & salt method. Almost all medications are a waste of money for Ich and stress your fish as bad as the disease. Use only Kosher or aquarium salt(not table salt). Use no more than 1 tsp. per 5 gallons(because Corys are salt sensitive) and raise your temperature up to 28-30C. Ich can't take the heat. Leave it that high for one week after you see the last spots disappear. Do your temp changes slowly, about 2 degrees every 2 hours and your fish will adjust. Keep up with your weekly water changes and add salt at the rate of your replacement water. Unfortunately, 80% of the fish we buy are weak and diseased because of the wholesale practices used.
Go on the web and research Ichtyoptherius and learn about its stages and life cycles.
Welcome again. Life & luck, Old Scales.
