i have 1 orenge and white ocellaris clown already living in the tank and want to know if i could get a black and white clown to live with him?? will they pair up,or even be nice to each other?? is this a bad idea? has enybody done this before?

i had 2 clowns, but the smaller one is missing as of today. i know i need to find out what happend to him and where he is before getting a new fish, just wanna know if this will work out when its time to get a new fish.

I've added a single clown to a tank with a single clown before. It worked out really well for me, the two paired up pretty quickly. In fact i will be adding another single clown again cause the one I added went carpet surfing a few weeks ago. :-(

i am pretty sure i have an ocellaris(it was the cheaper of the two kinds) sound rite? and from what i could tell the black and white clowns are ocellaris as well..

yep, thats what i would think too. It's when you start mixing different clowns like a clarkii or a percula that in my opinion could bring trouble.

ok i found the missing clown remains and removed them. all that was left after one day of missing was bones.. i think he got stung by the new tube nem i put in the tank...and was devoured after pining himself in the back.

but here is the new guy in his drip bucket...

awww, he is so cute! I LOVE clowns when they are tiny, they are just adorable! LOL Cute but in a different way when they grow up. :-D

he is black and white, but has a little orange or red on his mouth.

i wanted a bigger one but he only had one big one and he said it was paired up with another clown already...and he didnt want to break them up:(

ok he's home... and he's already interested in the nems.. took like 3 months for the other clowns to care about the nems, and a few minutes for him.

Great question Bigford84.
I was wondering about the same thing.

I am buying a carpet anemone that comes with black/white clown. But I do already have a pair of ocellaris.
How would that work? Would it be ok?

no i dont think your situation will work.. the pair you already have will more then likely beat up the new clown.. but im not an expert, thats just what iv been told.

I agree, a third man out situation wont be good for the left out fish. The other two might decide its open season on the 3rd clown. :-(

Very cute Clownfish! I have a regular oscellaris with a black and white one. I love them!

Nice tank by the way, (y)

Thanks I will keep the third fish out than.

In ur opinion which is easy to take care and safer for the goby's in my tank.
Carpet anemone or rose bubble tip.

I had 2 weeks with an Condy anemone wasn't good. :(
