My advice is start with an easy cichlid to breed, like convicts, kribensis, etc. Once you get the hang of breeding, move onto a more difficult species. You won't make money off the "starter" cichlids, but some places will give you $1 per 1" fish.

Solid advice! That's why I suggested some of the more uncommon Pelvicachromis species. They breed pretty easy and sell pretty well.
