Seems like a Kenyi juvenile

I agree. Beautiful kenyi. That's a keeper. With that much dark color, I would think it's a male, but if it turns ugly yellow then it's a female.

Females remain blue their entire life, males turn yellow.

With that said, definitely not a kenyi

I went for a Kenyi because of the vertical stripes, as I have Kenyis in my tank.
I never had a scolofi, do they usualy have vertical stripes ?
 
They turn all blue with a black trim. The first picture on the link above shows how they look at maturity. They look like a blue version of the yellow lab. They are more peaceful than most mbuna as well.

Good to know, i may get some into my tank as well, loved the blue color they have, serms nices than the dolphin cichlids
