Two cichlid questions

Hi,
I was just doing some work on my tank and noticed something on two of my cichlids. First on the orange one there is a really dark shape around the stomach that was not like that this morning. Second on the yellow one there is a white spot on its sides...both sides in the same spot. Is that ick? Thanks in advance.

Doesn't seem like it. My red zebra and a few others look like that after feeding and especially if he's right in front of the light.

Not Ich, looks like fungus, or a bacterial infection. The orange fish could be red velvet. But it also looks like the cosmetic blemishes some cichlids get, they are ugly but harmless.

I'd get some Melafix, maybe some Pimafix, and a SAFE Ich/parasite guard. Look for ingredients like malachite green/Victoria green, nitromersol, AVOID formalin, or anything that sounds like a chemistry experiment.

You should be fine curing the white stuff with the Melafix or Pimafix (depending if it's bacterial or fungal) the other stuff is in case it is red velvet. (I doubt it, it usually presents on the face, and spreads fast)

Also check your water quality. Prolonged exposure to Nitrates causes diseases. Do lots of water changes.

I just noticed the bloat. Get some Melafix. It's most likely bacterial.
