I'm cycling my new tank with some LR before I transfer my current aquarium over. Today I spilled some baking soda into it while cleaning the house. It was about 1/4 of a cup.. Will this affect anything???

Thanks! Will it eventually come back down?

None. I'm planning the move this Thursday.

It should precipitate out. Your kH can only go soo high so I wouldn't imagine it'll be an issue. Could have caused major issues if fish were in the tank though so I wouldn't make a habit of dumping large amounts of it in the tank randomly :)

Just double check your alkalinity and pH to make sure they're stable before adding anything live. I use baking soda in my 75 as an alkalinity booster.
