Biorb makes an under tank heater for their products... I don't know if it's a viable option for a gallon container, but it can't hurt to look.

I go to " river front aquariums, pisces pet emporium and big Als." because I live in Calgary AB and there close and these are all big chain stores like petco (I bought my Betta at Pisces) and next time I go I will look for one! Thanks

Ya and it tells you when it's heating up and when it's done with a light.. It's red when heating up and green when at correct temp!
