What would be some hefty big fish that would work in my 40 gallon bow front aquarium

I want some aggressive fish but not really cichlids I already have them

Well, if it hefty and big it will probably have to be by itself. Are you looking for a community?

Not really a community but I he's gonna be with my bichir and prob one more fish and that's it

Hmm, no cichlids huh? Maybe a few rainbows. Irian and Bosemani get around 4" and have good girth.

Some gourami can get nice sizes. Three Spot, and Kissing.

Those really dont belong in a 40g. Some think bichir shouldnt be in a 40g. Im just trying to give me best advise without telling you you need a new tank.

Yea I understand that and I appreciate that the bichir I got is sorta a dwarf cas the albinos don't get as big as a Senegal

Ya? I have never had one, just from what i have read. But the bigger and thicker the fish the more bioload, and 40g isnt very big so the bioload shouldnt be too high. Maybe a school of tiger barbs? They get nice size and work in semi-aggressive setups, and are very cool looking.
