Hey your right! It's Riccia. I think the other one is frill. Im having a hard time getting the frill to root, but we'll see. The Riccia is slowly showing signs of growth but it still needs time to fully adjust.

I'd say my DIY co2 needs a new batch about every 6 weeks.

Thank you. I decided to make some changes late last night under the influence of John Jameson. As you can see in the first photo, I may have an impending baby tears invasion.

So I decided to clear out a small bushel, and bring over an Anubias from my 55g. Also the Riccia seems to be taking off now!

325 comments, wow your tank is popular hahah. Your tank is like a dream of what I wish mine would look like, I love live plants it looks amazing!

Well this build thread is now over a year old, so hence the number of comments. But I do believe this little dreamland of mine has quite a few followers. lol. It's interesting to read through and watch it grow throughout the year.

The current stock:

2 Rainbow Furcatas
5 green neon tetras
1 BNC
and numerous RCS and assassin snails.

With a 10 gallon it's so easy and cheap. A couple $4 daylight cfl bulbs, some root tabs, a DIY CO2 setup and boom.

Of course you'll need to get some plants as well... :p

Short update...

Here are some photos just to show the latest growth on the 2nd edition of this tank. I've also taken some of the DBT that I bought for my 55 and planted it in the foreground of this tank.

Also, can someone tell me how to trim frill? I wouldn't think you just cut the top off.. do you?

Enjoy!

Can anyone tell me how to trim frill? The only way I see is to chop the top off, but I don't want to kill it.
