I Want to tear down my twenty gallon tanks that currently has red cherry shrimp, two Cory cats, and neon tetras. Would I need to have a heater in a bucket to maintain the temp for the tetras and cories? Would it be safer to have the red cherry shrimp in a different bucket so as to not lose any shrimp? Thanks for any info.

Well, if you plan on keeping the fish in buckets for several hours than yeah, why not put heaters in? If it's only for a little while, drop a floating thermometer in with them so that you can monitor the temperature.

I think RCS are delicate, and why risk having them get injured/eaten if you could put them in a separate container/bucket? ;)
