Yep - those flowering begonias are gorgeous; we have some like 'em in the back yard. I got some great pics of our 2nd and 3rd ripe cherry tomatoes; they're gorgeous too. ;)

Post 'em asap!

Wahoo! Time for some pasta sauce (once we get a couple dozen more. ) Don't have a recent pic of it, but our basil plants are growing in nicely also; we've had a few salads spiced up w/ it - tasty! Fresh basil on the porch is awesome; especially if you like pasta and/or pesto. :)

Only on rare occasions are 'deadheads' allowed to stay on the plant (vigilant gardener, my wife. ;)) so I couldn't pass up this pic.

I'm loving the macro mode. :D

Not quite sure on the ID on this one; I suspect salvia or lavender, but haven't found a positive example of either. Anyone?
( :edit: I found out last night that this is in fact a type of lavender :/edit: )

I also noticed this wknd that my blackberry lilies are within a week or so of blooming! :D I can't wait!

This has been a great thread to wonder through. Its winter here, not many flowers in sight. I'm almost transported to a warmer season (til I look outside at the grey gloom)! :)

Yeah, I'm waiting for my lilies to bloom as well. Hopefully by next week. Also, if anyone has an idea what type of plant that is in the bottom pic of my post, please post. It's a pond plant and the flowers are about the size of a dime.

Lots o pics -

The neighborhood cat (Lucy iirc) protecting the asiatic lilies for Toirtis. :D

The lighting could be better, but the detail is there.

Orange red daylily.

Some daisies cut before they get tore up from the weather - another favorite of mine. :)

Detail of the daisy's "face". (Dig this pic - love that macro! :D)

Dahlia blossom; these are smaller plants and flowers about 2.5" across. They're doing fairly well but the flowers get tore up pretty quickly. The ants are not included.

And finally some bean blossoms - we're hoping the bunnies don't get to these before we do. :D

(Wow, lots o pics is right!)

Thanks Cindy. It looks like one because of the leaves, but it's not. I'm not sure the correct name for it, but this flower only blooms at night.

My mother actually gave me just one leave 3 years ago and this is what it looks like every year. You plant the leave down in the dirt and that's it. Pretty amazing.

Here are my white flowers.

Here is my pride and joy. I just wish I could keep all the snails from eating them.

snails or slugs???
I Know it works for slugs... open beer... drink it.... cut lid off of beer can... bury can up to rim.... fill can with cheep beer.... slugs like the yeast or maybe the hops, they fall in the can, cant climb out, and drown. I would imagine it would work with snails too... its worth a try

Dig the flowers, Fawn! The white ones are gorgeous; they look like they belong on a cactus. :p

I got some new pics this wknd (surprise surprise. )

Not sure what this tree is; it's about 3m, wiht these 3" blooms. I suspect it's a type of crepe myrtle, but I'm not sure. Can anyone ID for me?

Another type of daylily; different shape/color.
