Hi I am Lynda from Sterling Heights MI.... Just got a new set up from a college student going in the coast guard. Total set up... He helped me set it up. 29 gallon fresh water, live rock and plants w/ nine semi agressive fish. set up last nite. still cloudy but so far so good. I am so excited and nervous at the same time... New hobby for me.

Welcome to AA! if your tank is brand new and you just added fish, be prepared to do daily water changes to get them through the cycle. if you don't know about cycling, read up on the nitrogen cycle, and buy a liquid test kit--your best friend! API Freshwater Master test kit is the preferred brand around here ($18 at walmart.com)

Welcome....Deffently add pictures!! I love looking at everyones pictures on here :)

thanks for the newbie greeting.....the tank has been cycled already by the previous owner. Tank was set up using most of the cycled water. we did all the fun stuff yesterday.

as long as you used the same decor and filter media i think you should be okay. and aslong as the filter media didnt dry up. all the good bacteria is in the filter media. if you washed the decorations of put new filter media in, you will probably see a cycle
