What's the difference between a 40g tank and a breeder???
Would a 40 long be better?A 40B is 36x18x16 and a 40g is 48x12x16 where as the 40B provides a much better foot print IMO.

Does that mean you would rather have the extra 6 inches in height than the extra 12 inches in length?It's personal preferance at that point, but I prefer the foot print of 40B's.

Ahhh right, depth...makes sense...The extra 6" is in the depth, but yes I prefer that for this particular set-up. For some stocking applications the length is more important.

Now that I have your attention 8^)
I would like a pair of cichlids that would fit in a 40g, either b or L, that would be a little challenging to keep and breed that is somewhat unusual...what species do you suggest I start researching?
Thank you...they look great and a little less aggressive.Sajica's are what I'm looking for currently for one of my 40B's.
