What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Yes, autumn is quite busy.
I changed a 24 oz paintball tank today. I got 4 months out of it. When I was emptying it, I found that there was a ton of CO2 left in it even though the gauge read zero. Prolly could have gone a few more weeks on it.

 More verbose! I am sure most every one is pretty busy over time with their tanks.

That is a really long time I think. I have never tried or thought of trying CO2 but lately I have become more curious, so I could grow some plants I might otherwise not be able to.

It lasted twice the expected time. That was 24 oz tank. Imagine a 5 lb tank (80 oz).
That's how I felt last year. DIY is a low cost investment and good way to explore its affect on the your plants before diving in.

I already own a tank (kinda big) from a soda machine, probably still has CO2 in it!

I Added 15 more drops of ammonia to my cycling tank to bring the levels up too 8ppm, and of course tested the water with my master test kit. Almost done..yay!

I'm currently sitting down taking a break from cleaning my 56. I've forgotten how rough big water changes are with a bucket. Must find a way to hook up my python in my bathroom. The only faucets I can hook it to are the ones outside. Three 5 gallon buckets down, probably another three to go... then filling it back up. My back is aching already, thus the break. Guess I better take it slow. Once im done I'm heading out to get Trogdor some better food.

Added a support for my betta's bubblenest, my female is looking ready to breed (ovipositor and everything) but he hasn't even built a bubblenest!

Where's the pics? You know we want to see pics!!!

I just fed a little bit today.

Observed that the little Celestial Pearl Danio babies I added into the 12G tank yesterday are showing more color and they are getting along with the tank mates and even were in 2 groups, (now there are enough for that :) ) closer to the front of the tank, so easier to see! They are becoming one of my very favorites.

The Blue Velvet mommas are carrying some babies. So hoping that there will be a big burst of blue babies in a few weeks. There are still a bunch saddled. Getting even more excited, I could have a tank full pretty soon.

Decided to get another 8 CPD if that is the sale deal when I go back in a week or so, and also my 5 Chilis are looking good in the 6.6G Edge tank, so I will get another few to add to their group. The Fire Red Shrimp momma is carrying eggs now and hoping they will survive and grow up. Fingers crossed.

HELLPPPPP!!!!!!!!

So my family friend got a tank from her family friend and it looks like a ten gallon but she doesn't know yet. The tank houses one red tail shark and another fish I don't know the name of. I know for sure that the red tail can't live in that tank so I'm trying to convince her to get a much larger one for her home since she really wants a fish tank(or just re-home the shark). Can anyone tell me what type of fish the 'other fish' is? Unknown fish is a zebra danio. It's a really active schooling fish.

Fish are fun!! ???

Tank swaps, MACNA 2014 and FW POTM

Fed fish. And am pondering tank swaps and storage and painting tank trim.

Also checking to see if anyone is going to MACNA 2014 in Denver, CO You can click here if so...I posted a thread.

Also wanted to let you all know to notice the August FW POTM theme and place to enter your photos! I am hosting this fun show off for August and want to invite you all to take some pics or find your favorites to post one.

Maybe you had submitted one you think is Special and didn't win, well, this is your opportunity!

On a different note, why do I always feel awful when I cut back the fish on their food, as an over feeder, I keep trying to reform. The fish punish me by acting as if they are going to starve!

Thank you! Will the redtail be peaceful with him, at least until she gives him a new home?

Namirah?Canadian, Eh??

He's actually a rainbow shark, red tails are solid black with only a red tail. Sometimes rainbows are called red fined sharks. He will get more territorial/aggressive as he grows. Mine exists peacefully with similar size fish, but he is aggressive toward anything smaller than him. Hope this helps

Yep, same experience here, more or less. Only difference is mine doesn't bother my zebra danios or my Cory catfish at all. The danios are too quick for him, and I have no idea why he ignores the cory's.. Every other fish (with the exception of my rubbernose pleco who seems to scare him) is fair game, and he can be a real bully!!

Thanks @enrgizerbunny and @Fraser! She only has the danio in there and I'm sure it'll be food soon :/ so we're looking for a better tank to suit them:)

Plotting and planning tank stuff, I swear that is how I spend half my time trying to see how something will work and research and check this and read about that, lol. This time the SW switch a roo is the focus.

The 4 fish received as a rescue to my DD, the Opaline and Dwarf Gouramis and the 2 Bronze Cories are doing great so far. The O has always been social, but not the Dwarf. Last night he came over towards me when I approached the tank (think FOOD) but, hey, at least there is progress. Before he would dart away if there was any activity.

He is very red coloration in his stripes so I am guessing male.

Itching to get my fish out of QT and into the 72G.

DD said /text, she got a "really big filter", I asked what kind and haven't heard back yet, she was gonna use the AC110 but she said she wanted a canister so the tank could be viewed from both sides, so she has me wondering now. Very excited to get started on her 46G bowfront scape. Should be in a few days, maybe Friday or next week on Sunday.

Filled evaporation in all tanks.
