oh, I appreciate it. :) Just wish they werent so darn expensive. They used to be $40 and now they are well over $100. Just dont get the fish pricing thing lol

Thanks bribo, I would love to get one but the price tag is scaring me away. :-(

I am going to have to cut my fish spending for the next few months as I need to buy a new computer for the new warcraft expansion coming in November. lol

I also blew alot of my budget this month on the radion getting fixed. booooo......

Ooooo! New computer! Speaking of electronics, how are you liking your iPhone now that it has been a few months?

The 60g is coming along well! :D

Got the rockscape finished and its in the 60g now. Looks ok, just have to adjust the structures. :)

I also picked up a 35g tank and stand for some betta fish I am working on saving from their little cups. lol Pictures below of whats been up.

I love my iphone btw, I use the camera on it now for my pictures instead of my phone. lol Its very neat and I am looking forward to the iphone 6, whenever it gets released. :)

Forgot to mention, lo, my radion will be getting here tomorrow!!! The tracking shows tomorrow anyway lol....Cant wait to be able to program it and see how it looks!

LOL, Almost forgot.....I have the rock in the 60g and added a half bottle of dr tims stuff. I had the remaining piece of the toadstool still in the tank and the rotting took the ammonia to about 2ppm. Just tested the water and its still at 2ppm. No nitrites either. Trace nitrates. So it looks like a cycle is going on, hopefully it wont be long with the dr tims stuff. lol
I really need to move some coral around, they are taking a beating from the sand sifting goby in the 40b, there is just not enough room in the tank for them all. I also have the elephant mushroom in the 180g that pootie tang is CONSTANTLY moving and the mushroom is coming dislodged from the rocks its on. I just epoxied all the rocks together that its stuck on and pootie already has moved it twice. he just does not like corals in certain places it seems. Silly fish is giving me grief.

Cool scape! I will follow along for the Betta adventure too, I love them. The iPhone 6 will be announced September 9! :) Likely release for the 19. Can't wait!

$269-300 is steep. I missed one at an old LFS I used to go to a few months back and they had it for $99. Cool fish, but not $250+ cool, IMO.

Pays to know my LFS owner. I didn't pay nearly what they are asking for mine

Carey liveaquaria.com has the white tail bristletooth tangs in stock again I just ordered on from them. I remember me and you having a conversation about them forever ago.
Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: White Tail Bristletooth Tang, Ctenochaetus flavicauda

Wow, good catch! That has been out of stock since 2011 when Carey first introduced it to her "want" list. Unless there was another time it came back where I didn't see, LOL. It does carry a hefty price tag though unfortunately.
WOW though! :)

OOOOhhhhh sooooo jealous! Please post a photo when you can, I would love to see one "live" and in person. well, not really live, but not in a websites photo. I hope they look as awesome in person!

i am still waiting for the trace nitrites to go down in the 60g, I am ready and able to move some corals over. Also, the two nems I now have are not looking so hot. The original one hasnt opened since it split and the baby he had only opens a tiny bit. Both have moved to under a rock and havent moved since.

Lets. see what else is news...I am also cycling my freshwater 35g tank for my betta sorority, that should be done by the end of the month i am guessing. Then the mission will be to save as many female bettas as i can find at the local walmart, petco and petsmart. :)

I love the idea of saving them from the little cup they are in I know they dont need much room but that is horrible.

Good luck with the nitrites in the 60g, they're a pain, aren't they? I cannot wait to see how the Betta tank goes, that is going to be such a fun build! Will updates for that tank go here too? :)

Yep, I suppose I should post the betta build here as well, keep it simple. lol

The nitrites went down the other day so I moved over a bunch of coral. No fish yet, gonna wait on that part. Wanna get the coral thing figured out first. :)

Really loving the radion with the 3rd gen led's, it is uber bright, I have it at 40% for now and everythign but a birds nest is on the sandbed. Just to be sure. Dont want to torch all my corals again. :-(

Once I get them all moved into suitable locations I will drop a bomb of photos here. lol

I so love taking pictures! hehe...

And we all love looking at the pictures!

So I got the 35g freshwater tank cycling in the kitchen, the one for the bettas. :) Nothing new going on there.
I have been moving a bunch of corals from the 40 to the 60g and so far so good. I have my little acan garden to the left and back, my huge elephant ear mushroom is recovering thankfully from being manhandled by the blue tang and is happily sitting front left, a bit under the overhang. he seems to like it, he got alot bigger than he was. Stupid pootie tang repeatedly moved the rocks the mushroom was on and was tossing it around. The shroom is actually torn all the way to the mouth but it looks 100% better.
I have some misc zooas around the 60, not sure exactly where everything is gonna go yet, still adjusting them all to the new high lighting. I also have two leathers in the 60g now, one being a toadstool that is kinda in the middle but hidden from view in a way, between the two rock structures. he is getting plenty of light but you just cant see em too well. lol
I am loving the new radion too, but I am noticing alot more green algae right now on the glass and rocks...just liek diatoms but green. I have read that the red in the leds will cause excessive algae, any one read this as well? I'm used to the diatoms, I did add about 10lbs of new sand so I expected it but they are a bright green, just weird.
And as always, here are some photos. In no particular order lol

OHH almost forgot, I still have the itty bitty nems in the 60g! The one is on a rock mid level and opens and bubbles, but the other is attached to a plastic tupperware bowl that I put him in with some rocks but he hasnt attached to them, only the bowl. lol They are really tiny, not sure if they will make it. How do you make a nem big? lol

The nems will get about 2 feet across. But that'll be years and years. Also, you can always just slice them in half if they get too big.

Ok, so 2 tanks down and 3 to go! woohoo...

I guess we'll go with the 60g rimless. It's my current build in progress and has the nicest gear so here she is.

Deep Blue 60g 24 x24 x 24 rimless cube
A BEAUTIFUL custom made stand that took like 6 months to get finished and had to be returned once for adjustments. lol
I have a radion for the lighting which hangs from a set of dual hanging bars from current. I paid like $80 for the pair but it made it so easy to set up the lighting, I know I could have made my own with some conduit but that is SOO not me, not very creative and handy only to a degree.
A 20H sump partitioned for the intake, skimmer and return pump. No refugium, I never had much luck with them so skipped it here. I have a Tunze skimmer, 9006 which is rated for 158g. Standard aqueon pro heater just like ALL my tanks have and thats all I have running in the sump for now.
I have an ecotech MP10es as well for the flow. The return pump is a mag 9.5 which is pushing a good amount of water so the mp10 isnt really even cranked too high and the flow is pretty darn good. :)

So far, there is just a hige pile of live rock sitting haphazardly in the tank, say about 70lbs or so. I had been cooking it out back for over 5 MONTHS and believe it or not there are like 100's of feather dusters all popped out, bright green ones and even some zooas!! The rocks were in a brute garbage can out back since I got the 180g back in like November and there has been zero light shined on those rocks and yet the life is still there! Its so awesome to see, I don't quite understand how they all made it out alive after that long in cold water, no light and with dosing of ammonia up to 4ppm throughout the last few months. But is goes to show you that "life will find a way" ( who knows where that quote comes from??anyone?? lol)
My plans for this tank are absolutely and completely up in the air right now.
I have the equipment to go which ever way I want with it but have no clue what I am gonna do with it. lol You guys are gonna have to help me out when the time comes. :)
The only thing I want to do is make very tall structures with the rock, no piling it up, I want almost tree branch shapes that go high up, almost to the top of the 24 inch depth of the tank. I have special reef safe cement that I intend to use to fuse it together.

WOW, this post has really gone on and on...so sorry.....

But here are some shots of the 60g, it's such a great footprint for rockscaping but it really stinks as far as working underneath in the stand. lol So darn tight in there, makes everything difficult. lol
