Ah bummer. I doubt the food flow there is high, I'm assuming he is dying. Unfortunate, he is my biggest scarlet. Meanwhile two blue legs and some unknown giant (in comparison) are doing great. There is another scarlet that hides a lot.

Yeah they should be pretty active. I'll send you one of the gigantic ones in my sump lol! Things are beasts!!

I would love to see him bribo, I actually havent really seen how large they get.
In other news my Dottyback is actually pretty chill and not as reclusive as I expected, the problem, my purple firefish is an absolute jerk. He doesn't really bother the clown but he hates the indigo dottyback. I'm considering a change there. The only thing stopping me is the hope that getting them moved to the 29 will open up enough space for them to coexist. Anyone have any experience with purple firefish? Is this just typical behavior?

I have had all three types of fire fish and they can be conspecific.
(Sometimes) I think the big jumping behavior is in aversion to aggression, which in most proper setups is from 'similar fish'?
More space will always help but in my 75 I lost them in order of cost(most expensive{helfrichi} first)!:(

Thanks cb. I've read mixed reviews online. He isn't really hurting the dottyback but it is bullying, I'll see if the tank upgrade helps or he is going to be sold, I much prefer the dottyback, he is an awesome fish, instantly one of my favorite. Am I correct that I couldn't keep a dottyback and a royal gramma together.

I'm not certain on the grama/dotty but grammas are all good till they meet their own!

Tried 3 way back in a 135.....Ended up with one.:nono:

I would imagine it wouldn't go well.

Your Dotty is a beauty!

I'd be wary of the dottyback and gramma. Grammas are pretty chill though. Mine guards her cave all day long and comes out for food. But basically all bark and no bite. However the dottyback may infringe on the grammas cave to much.

I've always wanted a helfrichi firefish but I can't afford to lose a $100 fish to jumping!!

Yeah that's what I was thinking, thanks for the views. I did pick up some floramax today to swap out my nano tank substrate. I also grabbed one of those little pet smart packages of 2 inch cryptocoryne wendtii. I have had decent luck with these plants, its what my dhg and bacopa came in and they have done well. Unfortunately I also picked fallout 4 today for ps4 so tank time will be split with game time. I still hope to get the new substrate in this weekend. I'm also getting the components to within a few weeks pull my electric yellows to a species only breeding tank, my peacocks and acei to a separate tank and get the sa/ca inhabitants in the 60. Then comes the move of the saltwater tank to the 29, I'm excited for whats to come soon.

Look luck with the crypts. You may see some melting. Root tab and in no time they are off :)

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, fallout 4 has been as good as advertised, Bethesda never disappoints. Therefore tank progress has been slow, I may have actually missed the window on planting the crypts, they look pretty dead in their little package.

Cool man, I've got some too!!!
Yours are a bit bigger, how old are your fry now?

Clem

I've got a few that are at a month old and these 10 are about 2 hours old. I actually saw the female have the last few. I'm trying to breed out a pair I got from a friend. Both parents are stunners.

Can't wait to see them, they should do well for you as I can see. You have any pics of the parents?
I've just got some mixed show guppies, but I have to cull them and sex them soon. I just picked up some 10 gals today, at $9.98/tank.
So I've got some work to do also with my Angel pairs, I'm hoping they will breed for me soon!!![emoji40]

My 10 fry are doing well. I got the substrate changed out in the 5.5 gallon, its now a floramax substrate, spread out the dhg, trimmed the bacopa and replanted the corymbosa. I'll get some pics when it settles.

Nano looks good! I tried DHG in my nano, didn't work too well. Are you using a planted tank substrate or any old whatever? Looks like the bacopa exploded too, nice!
