Happy 4th everyone.
I bought an Elephantnose mormyrid earlier today, and placed him in my 30 gal. The tank is occupied by four dalmatian mollies and a large snail, decent enough tankmates.
The tank is artificially planted (hoping to change that soon), but I'm going to rearrange things so he...
All right. I'll suppose I'll just start leaving algae wafers and shrimp pellets about and hope he cools off enough to find them. I know what you mean about the mollies, mine did that before they got hooked on frozen brine shrimp every day. Thanks a ton!
Hey everyone,
I have a properly cycled 30 gallon freshwater tank that I stocked yesterday. I purchased two bala catfish, three pink skirts and three serpaes. I'm going to purchase at least one or two more of both of the aforementioned tetras soon for schooling purposes.
The tetras have...
My tank is cycled, it has been for a long time. Before weekly water changes were all I needed but I've been needing to do them more often. My ammonia and nitrites are fine, it's just my nitrates that have been going up quicker.
Sorry I wasn't able to get back.
I did a fairly large water change, and by the time I fed the fish and turned off their light for the night, the gourami seemed okay.
I turned my tank on this morning and the gourami was dead.
I don't know what's wrong. I put a dose of kordon ammonia...
Hey everybody, please try to offer help if you can.
I have a 29 gallon, cycled freshwater tank that has been established for over a year. It currently has five dalmatian mollies and a single dwarf gourami. I lost one molly a few days ago, it was growing continually skinnier and I think a prior...
So here are my current levels. Keep in mind I did a very large water change this morning
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: About 1 ppm
Nitrate: About 30 ppm (This test could be wrong, I think I put too many drops in)
Where is my bacteria?!!
Nope, no new fish and nothing with my water supply has changed to my knowledge. I have no idea what effect that algae growth could have, or if something has changed because of the introducing of frozen brine shrimp to the tank. ugh.
Hey everybody, I'm having trouble with phantom chemical levels. While normally the solution would be my bacteria eating everything up, my tank has been cycled for god knows how long. I've noticed one of my six mollies gradually becoming skinnier, and he seems to have some permanent damage on his...
I moved the gourami out, he seems to have taken nicely to the cycled main tank. Whatever happens, happens.
I really need to get my responsibility up. I never check temp or water conditions. I just assume the heater keeps it in place, and my levels are fine until PWC. I do PWC's usually earlier...
50% done.
Another molly looking to die soon. The rest are hiding from me. Gourami is the only one moving around. If I don't get input on him I'll just make a choice and live with it.
I have some concerns about the gourami.
He looks great, he hasn't been inside as long as the other fish. If there were any I could save, it'd be him. I'm going to move him to a seperate container (should be fine for a while, surface breather) and think about whether or not I want to move him...
