So I tried putting the bichir in the big tank and I think he's too small. I added him with two other cichlids and rearranged half of the tank at the same time. I saw him this afternoon in the corner with a missing fin and some damage to the back. I'm going to let him grow till about 6+ inches...
All my fish love mine I have a big one on one side and a small nano on the other they almost seem to be doing something with the current sometimes my danio hang out behind it. Maybe they think they are safer behind it who knows.
I always forget the basic but most important parts. It's a 55 with caves all on the left side and lots if swimming room on the right. The bichir is a Senegal.

Okay. Ya I may have just jumped to conclusions. I just checked it and the belly is getting smaller. I fed them today and will fast them again to work it's way back to normal

I had this guy in my tank. He was in there first and killed most of the tropical fish so I switched to cichlids and they left each other alone. He died after climbing out if the tank to go for a walk.
