    Re-homing an Angelfish

Maybe I'm being too futzy about it. I should add more hiding places, I think. Is a 30 gal tank big enough for 2 of them?

    Re-homing an Angelfish

Thanks for your response, charliebankston! I have had little success with finding other aquarists in my local area. All I know is that the aggression can't be good for either of them. I'll keep looking for others in my area that may be able to help me re-home one of them. Thanks again!

    Re-homing an Angelfish

So, in January 2020, I got two tiny angelfish. Their bodies were between the size of a dime and a nickel. They are a champaign color and are now about 2" a cross, give or take a little. They are in a 30 gal tank with a couple of cory cats and six tetras. They never bother the smaller...

    Angelfish ich, fungus, fin rot???

Sorry, I forgot to include... The eat flake food, and supplement with a few cichlid pellets or mini dried shrimp (which they LOVE). The tank has been established since August 2018. The filter is a double Marineland HOB. I don't know the flow rate, but it is probably too much for angelfish...

    Angelfish ich, fungus, fin rot???

I bought 2 peachy/champagne angelfish in January 2020. They were between dime and nickel size, and now their bodies measure about 2" across. I've had them in a 30 gal aquarium with 3 cory cats and 6 tetras. I have been a less than a wonderful fish keeper the past several months because my 87...

    Aquarium safe paint

Thanks! I did it find some recommendations for Krylon Fusion. It doesn't say it is aquarium safe, but people have used it without harm to livestock, with a warning to make sure it is cured.

    Aquarium safe paint

I have an old plastic or resin shipwreck piece that was too big for my 10-gal tank. I just moved up to a 29-gal tank and would like to use it in that. I've read that Krylon Fusion is a good spray paint. However, the piece needs to be more than 1 color. Any suggestions for underwater paint...

    New Snails!

That snail is a beautiful color! And I have a soft spot for these little guys too. I couldn't get pictures of the blues, but will post when they come out to play. Here is the ivory snail.

    New Snails!

Where I live there is only a big box store, and not the one I prefer. I've been going religiously every Thursday (the day new livestock is put out) and they almost never have new Mystery Snails. I drove about 3 hours round trip to another big box store that said they had a ton of them and came...

    Thinking About Snails

I feed mine Snail Jello. It's a gelatin mixture that has some fish food flakes, vegetable baby food, a calcium source and unflavored gelatin. Those are the main ingredients but you can add other things. The calcium is important for the shell formation. I've seen recipes here and there. It...

    Moving Aquarium 10 Hours Away

I thought I had replied to your post Autumnsky. Must have failed to hit the send button. lol The tank is stable and, from what I can tell, didn't even try to mini-cycle. I have tested every 2-3 days and never saw any rise in values. Every time I look at the fish, I think how sweet hubby was...

    Moving Aquarium 10 Hours Away

I have finally moved the aquarium (last weekend), and all fish made it. My poor husband had to do all the work because I had already moved to the new house. I couldn't get the destination tank to cycle in time so we just brought as much water from the old tank as we could in two 5-gallon...

    Moving Aquarium 10 Hours Away

Thank you Autumnsky! That was very helpful, and a lot of good reminders, like not rinsing substrate with chlorinated water.

    Moving Aquarium 10 Hours Away

Thank you! I've used one when gone on vacation and the fish seemed fine. It did overfeed, but a good gravel vacuuming and water change remedied that. Anyway, I may just try it for cycling the new tank setup. Thanks again!

    Moving Aquarium 10 Hours Away

I was thinking about putting one of those automatic feeders on the new tank after i get it going, but don't think I trust that way of feeding it.

    Moving Aquarium 10 Hours Away

I am moving about 10 hours away by car. The new house is being renovated, so i am going over every 2-3 weeks working on that. My 10 gal aquarium only has 5 neon tetras and 2 Cory cats. It's been stable since going through a nitrogen cycle to set it up 6-ish months ago. I have another 10 gal...

Mystery snail inactive a few days

Is my Mystery Snail sick or just inactive for a rew days? He only ate a little snailo on Friday, so I offered it again Saturday. He didn't eat any then and has been inactive since, laying on his side. He doesn't smell bad, so I don't think he's dead. Cory cats pester him while he's having...

    New to the Forum

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum today. My mom had a number of aquariums when I was a kid. It was great fun! I had an aquarium for a couple of years in the 2000s, but not since 2010, and it wasn't much. My family draws names for a Christmas swap and, when asked what I wanted, I asked for...
