I just added a three-spotted gourami. I fed it a couple times and it's going to the bathroom (lol) a lot. Is this normal? Just something gourami's do? Could it be sick or just stress from a new tank?

10 gallon on my desk temp range is from 72 degrees to 78 degrees or so. All in one day.

I just got a mystery snail last night. When I put him in the tank, he starting eating like any snail would. Now he's just sitting on the bottom inside his shell. I have pond snails and they're doing fine, so I know the water isn't bad. Is this normal behavior? Will he just come out of it?

Ya, thats just mean. I tried doing that with mine and it seemed like he was kind of freaking out.

Clams are generally the first species to die due to environmental factors. They are very touchy about their environment. I don't really think it would be worth doing.

mine stay at the waterline as well. They don't always do that, some are always going through the substrate, up and down and walls. I think they just come up to breath once in awhie.

Would it be a good idea not to change the filter until the tank is cycled? Makes sense to me to leave it in.
