the fish were fine about 5 hours before they died(i left for work and when i came home they were dead) and the catfish are bottom feeders. i have been testing the same way since i got the tank. i change my filter on the first of every month.

i have had the tank 1.5 years with the exact same fish through out. it was 3 hi-fi skirt tetras, 3 sunset wag platys, 2 serpae tetras, and 2 albino cory catfish (poop eaters).

its not swim bladder. he can easily float away. and he's not getting pulled up like usually happens with swim bladder. he is also not stressed cause i've had him in there since january. he's about 3 inches so, not very big.

i have actually had this happen to one of my fish. the trick is to buy a can of peas. now isolate the fish, in a breathable container inside the aquarium. if u get one of those plastic bowls that float and fill it with water that will work. now to you must peel the pea. the salt is only making...

i have re-examined the fish and it looks like it is getting paralyzed. now to can barely move its gills and only one front fin. does anyone know what could be causing this?

my fish show signs of stress when the ph drops below 6.2. they either become hyper active or really sluggish.

i do change my water with a gravel vac. i have gravel as a substrate and i only have 2 fake plants. the ph of my tap water is apx 6.5. and, fyi, my fish pretty much hate low ph. i have a pineapple swordtail, a shubunkin, 2 hi-fi skirt tetras, and 2 serpae tetra.

hello, i have a pretty big problem in my tank. my ph is constantly dropping. i do a 20% water change every 1-2 weeks. my ammonia is 0 and my nitrite is 0, but my ph is apx 5.7. does anyone know why this is? thanks in advance.

i actually haven't. everything in my tank has been there from the start.

my filter is a HOB and it uses activated carbon. i don't know how many gph it does, it is an aqueon medium filter that came in starter kit 14.

the tank has a medium filter and the heater works fine and keeps the tank at 73 degrees.

did i mention: only my weaker fish have died. i keep my fish in pairs and only the smaller of each pair has died. could that be signifcant?

i did rinse it well, and once again the problems are RECENT, the tank and everything in it are 2 MONTHS OLD.
