    I've tried an autofeeder before and hated it. I just have a friend stop by to feed my fish while I'm away (like this week!) I put some food in a baggie to demonstrate how much to feed the fish and I'll PWC and clean up extra food when I get back.

    Accidental Aquariast needs help

    Don't clean off your ornaments until after you have readings confirming that your cycle has finished. Remember that the bacteria lives on surfaces, like the ornaments and the gravel. I would reduce feeding to every 2 or 3 days. Keep doing the PWC's every day until the cycle finishes! Cycle...

    My fish run from the net and my hand. I've always been afraid of catching them with my hand, I'd think I'd drop them or hurt them somehow.

    I'd never thought about it... I'd always just throw it in still frozen and let it thaw while the fish attacked it. I'll have to try the new method!

    Pool Filter Sand?

    I love the look of PFS and look forward to when I buy a larger 75+ tank. I'll definitely be going with PFS then. Until then, my tanks will have to suffer with gravel, although it's natural looking. I wonder how many tanks I'll be allowed to have before my wife gets annoyed? :uhoh:

    I've had a mixture of good/bad experiences with two chain LFS. It really depends on if the person has experience keeping fish. I watched one clerk try to dissuade a customer from getting a pleco for a tank, and then she decided to get 2 because they were small. Talk about ignorance... And...

    so if you transfer a filter some substrate the Q/T Tank should be ok to house the sick fish? Just to clarify... I don't have any sick fish, I just want to know the answers ahead of time in case it comes up!
