    Plants still growing, but yellowing

    If the leaves are growing in yellow then that could be an Iron issue. If the leaves turn yellow then it could be nitrogen. So a dose of flourish couldn't hurt.

    First you defitinitly need to geet atest kit and then, what I did when I was having problems, do a 50% H20 change every other day and gravel vac. After a week or two the nitrAtes should be safe. Good luck and continue doing the water changes.

    White stuff building up on my glass top hood

    Use a little hot sauce from the kitchen. Pour it on the glass and lit sit for about five min and the rub with a soft cloth to remove the build up and the wash with hot water repeat if necicary. HTH.

    My mollys and sword tails poo changes color with different food and my catfish always have a tan/brownish color. But it all depends on what the fish eats.

    Have you tried feeding your pictus live brine shrimp? Mine love tho eat them right up and they love chasing them around the tank. I try and feed them live food atleast once a week just as a treat. They just go crazy.

    Algae problem!

    Did you ever think about adding a few live plants in the tank. I had 10 gal tank growing up that had an algae problem My dad added some live plants and in a couple of week the problem with the algae subsided. This is just a suggestion and good luck in fixing your problem.
