    German Blue Rams

Awesome fish plenty of character esp when paired up - though very sensitive, pH around 6 suits them better and very good water quality needed from my experience (in UK)

50 Gallon (180 Litre) tank ordered..... Stocking Ideas.

Hi All I have just ordered my new tank, a Juwel Rio 180 (I have arranged so it arrives 13th Feb - I am off that day to sort it out). I have ordered 2 filter sponges (which will fit the new tank) and have a spare one already in my current small tank to get seeded, so once I get the new tank...

    Cycling problems

So through the cycling process you have recorded Nitrites and Nitrates being above 0ppm? How many days have you been cycling?

    Plecos

Pitbulls are good small plecos to get, when happy they are quite active. Best to get driftwood for them and try to have 3 or more (but obv with a small tank be careful you don't overstock).

    Bettas with shrimp?

Ghost shrimp or Amano shrimp might be worth a try but I wouldn't even try Cherry Shrimp, I tried and soon failed.

Stocking advice for a 35 litre tank (just over 9 gallons)

Would be the safest bet imo, just make sure to give the embers a v good diet as there orange colour will fade otherwise.

Stocking advice for a 35 litre tank (just over 9 gallons)

I have a 35 litre tank. And my betta is shortly going to get the tank to himself as he is far to aggressive. I have mine with Embers and pitbull plecos, and he is still highly aggressively to them and stresses, he cant tolerate any movement. Guppys are a big no imo as a betta will see them as...

New tank 147 Litres coming soon! (just under 40 US gallons)

Hey all I haven't really been commenting since my first aquarium (10 gallon) cycled and fishes were fine, though I have been checking back and reading often. I should be within the next 8 weeks purchasing a new tank which will be about 37 (US) gallons. Yes I have genuinely annoyed my parter...

    Betta info?

Well I have learnt the lesson of putting my Betta with other fish he seemed to have killed a couple at the beginning and hasn't killed in months however, he does make the other fishes life ****, constant chasing and flaring and he even hides the pitbull pleco's sinking pellet - into his own...

    Small plecos

Pitbulls are very good just make sure you have 3 or more imo. As I am down to one at mo and he is a depressed little fella (so I'll get him some more friends soon).

35 Litre (roughly 10 US Gallon) Betta tank - Betta advice needed!

My two new additions Judas & Priest (Pitbull Plecos) have settled in nicely, one is absolute crazy ands the other we hardly see. Lovely fish and seem to get on ok with "Lemmy" (Betta) and the "Motley Crue" (Ember Tetras). Tank now fully stocked and I am very happy.

8 days into my fishless cycle...

I believe it can take a few days to see the ammonia drop after Nitrites have appeared

stocking question while i not-so-patiently wait for fishless cycle

Probably wrong but thought most barbs are fast and fin nippers?

stocking question while i not-so-patiently wait for fishless cycle

I have Embers with mine (get no less than 5), think they are the smallest tetra you can get and fortunately mine do not appear to be fin nippers. Think Cardinals, Neons are possibilities and Harlequin Rasboras if I remember are also potentially ok. My clean up crew will be the 3 cherry shrimp I...

    yellow water

I haven't had weights in mine so I don't know about that, do you have any bog wood in the tank?

stocking question while i not-so-patiently wait for fishless cycle

awesome cool! Well as I said earlier Im not to sure if you can have adfs and juliis in same tank esp if you need to have 6 juliis, as think they will all be competeting for the same area in the tank and possibly food as well. So hopefully somebody else will comment in on this one. But I would...
