    New Tank. For a n00b

I am interested in getting into the hobby. I have been looking at 2 different all in one kits. Amazon.com: Oceanic BioCube - 29 GALLON BIOCUBE: Kitchen & Dining and the JBJ Nano cube 24/28 model. Now is there any reason to stay away from these types of kits? Would it be cheaper for my to get my...

they are feeder goldfish, do they still need the 10 gal per fish? at the pet store they had them maybe 200 in a 10 gal tank.

    tank becoming cloudy

i wasn't going to put discus in with goldfish, the first thing i wanted to do after a cycle is add some plants to the tank.

    Making my choice in fish...

Yeah, from what i was reading they require almost as much care as SW tanks. That i'm not sure of, this is my first FW tank. I do have a SW tank and the up keep isn't really that expensive or hard. Just needs to be routine. So again i'm not sure with FW but from what i read shouldn't be to hard...

    Freshwater Beginner

That seems like it's more difficult then just leaving the UGF. I saw that link, but my UGF isn't really proving to be messy yet. What about them actually is so messy? just the maintance or the way the gravel sits on the bottom.? Thanks

    Filter Advice

"I know the feeling. Besides, once you get another tank, it's all downhill from there. Next thing you know, you move the couches to the deck to make room for more tanks." are we talking for experience :)

    tank becoming cloudy

I'm planning on keeping the goldfish feeders if they will get along with whatever fish i decide to get. I'm thinking i want to try raising some discus, but i understand they are picky. I have a SW and i can keep stuff thriving in that so i'm sure before no time i'll have perfect water for...

    Moving...how to transfer fish?

as far as the moving. i had a SW tank and i moved about 15 mins away. what i did is i got a 25 gal bucket lined it with a bag, poured in oh about 75-80% of the water moved my tank (light enough to carry by then) and when i got to new location i just added the water from the bucket back into my...

    tank becoming cloudy

IF i'm understanding this correctly my tank will be cloudy for about a month until it finishes the cycle. I've started using sun dried shrimp and the goldfish feeders love it. I'm not seeing a fish look unable (or about to die) LFS probably would take them back, but i like watching them. Are...

    tank becoming cloudy

I have a SW test kit that tests for those things. My tank has been up for 48 hrs now, it is a 30 gal tank. I have 7 fish that i think are feeder goldfish. I'll probably have a chance to test today after i get home from school. getting even cloudy since last night. However nothing had died yet :)...

lots of questions and need some answers!!!!!!!!!1

Saltwater is a higher up keep. I would recommend reading some of the informations in the fourms about the saltwater, i beleve you would have to buy new equipment. and the water changes will cost more as you need to add salt and what not. The fish also tend to be a bit more pricy. I have a 20 gal...
