I planted these guys from bulbs when I first redid the substrate. I thought they were "slow" growers but to my surprise, they sprouted and at the moment, I have several that are trying to push their way out of the tank. Thank goodness for hoods. *Special note to SparKy, it's your fault. :)

Sometime during the night, someone excavated a 2"x3" pit in my substrate. The debris mound (piled up next to the pit) is about 4" high. I gathered everyone up, put on the hot lights and received absolutely no confessions. I have attached pics of the dig.

I picked up a bag of 5 GBR wild strain babies at my local fish club auction the other day. Funny but they are much smaller than what they appeared to be in the bag. Paid a robust $8.00 for the lot. Hopefully they will survive in my 30g.

I changed the substrate today. Nothing major. I'm just hoping the cloudiness clears up soon. I also purged the tank of all plants except for the Amazon swords. Before After The new substrate is a combo of reg gravel, flourite and Shultz Aquasoil.
