if you're familiar with rainbow bosemanii (sp?) . . . some mornings when i come downstairs the largest of the rainbows are very nearly navy blue on their front half . . . other times not. as they mature will this color remain constant? do you know how big these fish get?

thanks for the response. i think i'm only cleaning my pump maybe once a month. if you don't use charcoal, what do you put in the cylinder currently containing charcoal.

am i supposed to change out the charcoal each time?

exclusively under water? i've searched for "aquatic turtles" but, of course, get red-eared sliders and all the others who need to come to the surface to breathe. is there a downside to having turtles? do they tear up plants?

the last time i had an aquarium (30 years ago) i lived in los angeles and every lfs had live food. now i live in kansas city and lfs owners look at me as if i've grown a second head when i ask about live food. my dogs and cats are on raw food and i think i'd like for my fish to be as well...

i was reading up this weekend on co2 . . . they mention tablets that will do the job. what's the general consensus on the tablets?
