Now that I have everything just about ready to put together, I am wondering when is the time to add the Bio Spira. Do I let the water settle for a day or so and then add it? Do I add ammonia first to start cycling?

My daughter is also interested in having a bubble wall in the back of the tank. Any ideas on pumps to buy? I'm almost thinking I had seen something about the Rena brands being good, but have lost it in my brain somewhere.

Will the rust in our water be a problem for filling our tank?

We have our own private well as we live in the boondocks. It is quite full of rust even though we have a water softener.

Thanks for the input. What kind of vacuum is the best to use? I have seen that the Pythons maybe look like good options. Also, what percentage of water do you change weekly? As for cycling the tank, does Bio Spira work very well in getting that started?
